When City Gate Church decided to invest in a fun, safe, and high-quality indoor playground, they turned to the the design experts at Northwest Play—and we couldn’t be more excited to be working with their team. From the initial design to our standard pre-assembly and now with the installation uder way onsite we’re excited to be finishing a playground that promises years of laughter, movement, and joyful chaos.
It All Starts With a Vision
Every great play space begins with a creative conversation. City Gate Church came to us with a vision: a place where kids could be active, safe, and connected in a space that felt adventurous and inviting.
Using their input, we translated their ideas into a custom 3D design portfolio, that best represents their goals and avaiable space at location.
This rendered proposal became our playground blueprint—complete with climbing zones, multi-level decks, punch bags, and two thrilling spiral slides that stands as the cherry on top.

From Blueprints to Pre-Assembly
With a plan in place, we transitioned to fabrication and pre-install assembly of the frame and plastics. A pre-assembly allows us to ensure that onsite challenges with fittings, pipe plans or plastics are mitigated and reduce the actual on location labor and installation charges for our customers. Meanwhile, our 100% North American manufacturing commitment means that every steel pipe, clamp, and fitting meets ASTM international safety guidelines, ensuring both durability and child safety.

Steel pipe, clamps and fittings make up the foundational strength, resilience and safety of your play structure over the life of your business. It is here where a good piece of your playground budget can be found, providing that long term return on investment with reduced maintenance and structural safety. All decking, foam rollers, and vinyl surfaces are crafted using commercial-grade materials—made to withstand high traffic while remaining soft and inviting.
Onsite Installation, Powered by Passion

When our shipment landed last week our crew—trained and led by company owner Derek Marchant—hit the ground running. Installation got started immediately after unloading the trailer was completed and the team started to assemble the frame. Now into the 8th day we can see the project coming to life. In fact you can see some of the themeing in the lower left starting to come into view.
Summer Themed
While themeing is certainly part of our service, we tend to go minimal, preferring to put those top end dollars into playability and activity mix, rather than a lot of hard-coated, carved foam and exterior components. Themeing can very quickly eat up 20% and more of your playground budget, especially if your budget is around $150k or less. Our approach is to consider themeing the environment with colors, murals and lighting to create the basis of the story and theme the structure with various grid murals and other details to further that effect, while maximizing the play-value from a strong activity mix.
In this case we worked with talent hired by the Church to facilitate their ‘Summer’ theme with vegetation, flying airplane and outdoor baseball and bat.

With all activities, components and themeing in place, we feel the job turned out pretty nice. A big thank you to City Gate, and we hope the kids have many years of fun in this 3-level habitat.
As those who have worked with us know, this isn’t just a job for us; it’s a passion. Our installers are professional, detail-oriented, and love building spaces where families will make memories for years to come.
